Stainer’s Crucifixion and other Passiontide anthems – 27 March 2010

Shrewsbury Choral Society will be joined at St Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury by choral workshop participants for a performance of Stainer’s Crucifixion and other Passiontide anthems. Performance starts at 4.30pm

Stainer’s Crucifixion has some of the most memorable hymn-tunes we shall ever hear and has the sublime and unsurpassed unaccompanied setting of “God so loved world”.

Audience (non-singing) tickets, £8 full price, £2 children, are available for sale online. Last minute workshop bookings are still being taken. Read the rest of this entry »

Change of rehearsal venue for 22 March

On Monday 22 March we will be rehearsing in St Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury (normal rehearsal times 7.30-9.15pm). Parking at the church is very limited so please use the town car parks.

Music for Passiontide – an invitation to sing Stainer

Shrewsbury Choral Society is inviting people to come and sing at their next concert on Saturday 27th March at 4:30pm in St Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury featuring the ever-popular ‘Crucifixion’ by Sir John Stainer.
