Martin Schellenberg took up the baton as Musical Director in September 2006. Accompanists were Rosalind Glossop and Tim Mills

9th December 2006 - A Celebration of Mozart’s 250th Anniversary with performances of the Mass in C minor, Ave Verum Corpus and the Solemn Vespers at St Chad’s

24th March 2007 - “The Great English Anthem” featuring Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, Elgar’s Ave Verum Corpus, Finzi’s God is Gone Up, Ireland’s Greater Love, Mendelssohn’s Hear my Prayer, Parry’s I was Glad, Stamford’s Justorum Animae, Tavener’s Song for Athene, and Vaughan William’s Let all the World.

9th June 2007 - “150th Birthday Concert of Sir Edward Elgar” - a performance of The Kingdom

3rd November - “Captivating Classics” - Haydn’s Missa Sancti Joannis de Dei (Little Organ Mass) and Nelson Mass, with Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate and the first movement of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik

8th December 2007 - Music for Advent and Christmas

8th March 2008 - “Music for Passiontide” - JS Bach’s St John Passion

21st June 2008 - “Schubert in Summertime” - Mass in G, Magnificat in C, and Symphony No. 1

8th November 2008 - Music for Remembrance” - Sir Arthur Bliss’ Morning Heroes, Parry’s I was Glad, Vaughan William’s The Lark Ascending (solo violin Robert Bishop) with Robert Hardy, renowned actor, as Narrator. This concert was given at the Abbey in a move from what had become the main concert venue of St Chad’s under the Auspices of the Wilfred Owen Association as this concert commemorated not just the 90th anniversary of the end of World War One but the 90th anniversary of the death of Shropshire poet, Wilfred Owen

20th December 2008 - “A Seasonal Celebration” - featuring Vaughan Williams Fantasia on Christmas Carols

25th April 2009 - “Celebrating Theatre Severn” - featuring a performance of Handel’s Messiah

13th June 2009 - “The French Connection” - Vierne’s Messe Solennelle, Four Motets by Duruflé, Three Motets by Villette and Fauré’s Requiem

14th November 2009 - “The Magic of Mendelssohn” - featuring Elijah and given at Shrewsbury Abbey

19th December 2009 - A Seasonal Celebration

27th March 2010 - “Music for Passiontide” - Lotti’s Crucifixus, Finzi’s Lo, the full, final sacrifice and Stainer’s The Crucifixion, given at St Mary’s Church and preceded by a day of workshop rehearsals as a ‘Come and Sing’ event.

19th June 2010 - “Vibrant Vivaldi” at St Chad’s - with performances of the Magnificat, Gloria and Summer from the Four Seasons with violin solo Paul Bramwell

13th November - “Magical Mozart” - Overture to Die Zauberflöte, Ave Verum Corpus, Symphony no. 39, Requiem. Given at the Abbey

22 December 2010 - “A Choral Christmas Present” at St Mary’s Church.

16th April 2011 - “ Great British Choral Music” at the Abbey. Featuring Rutter’s Requiem

25th June 2011 - “Rejoice” at St Chad’s - Handel’s Zadok the Priest and The King Shall Rejoice, Elgar’s Serenade for Strings and Rutter’s Magnificat

12 November 2011 “Remembrance” at the Abbey - Karl Jenkins - Requiem and the world premiere of Ronald Wilson’s Ode to the West Wind. This concert was Martin Schellenberg’s last concert with the Society

21 December 2011 “A Choral Christmas Cracker” introduced Alistair Auld as Conductor
